Thank you and Congratulations Michael!
All the Directors at Media Asset Capital would like to express their congratulations to Michael McEwan on his return to NABA and thank him for his contribution to MAC – he will be sorely missed.
Here is the official press release:
Michael McEwen appointed as Secretary General of the North American Broadcasters Association
MAC Chairman Michael McEwen has been appointed as Secretary General of the North American Broadcasters Association (NABA).
NABA is a non-profit association of broadcasting organizations in the United States, Mexico and Canada committed to advancing the interests of broadcasters at home and internationally. Founded in 1972, NABA provides a forum for North American Broadcasters to share information and best practices, discuss common challenges and opportunities, and reach concensus on key issues.
Michael has been a Director of MAC since 2006, and has served as its Chairman since 2010. Prior to joining MAC, Michael served in a number of senior positions at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) including; Deputy Head of Radio Current Affairs, Director of Radio and Senior Vice-President Media – responsible for all French and English TV and Radio services. Michael was named Vice President and Senior Advisor to the President and CEO of the CBC, in November 1995.
As a result of his appointment at NABA, Michael is standing down as Chairman and Director of MAC. However, he will stay on as Chairman of the Global Broadcast Summit; a joint venture between MAC and BPL Broadcast Ltd.
MAC CEO Neil MacTaggart stated: “We are obviously very sad to see Michael leave MAC. He has been a great source of knowledge, experience and wisdom during his time with the company, but this was truly too good an opportunity for him to turn down. We wish Michael all the very best at NABA, and he will remain a close friend to us all.”
